MIA Bamenda

When I was in upper sixth, I didn’t fully understand the challenges and the stamina it entails to write the medical entrance exam in Cameroon. But when I encountered MIA during the preparatory program, her advice and encouragement changed my perspective. Through patient teaching and unwavering support, the MIA team helped me overcome the obstacles I had in my studies. Their mentorship reignited my determination and self-belief. With MIA’s steadfast assistance, I navigated the rigors of the medical entrance exam and passed it despite its challenging and competitive nature. I also passed the engineering entrance exam into the National Higher Polytechnique Institute Bamenda. I’m deeply grateful to MIA for this transformative journey. Their mentorship has left a lasting impact, inspiring me to equally support others in chasing their dreams. I’ll always remember how MIA’s guidance helped me succeed, and I’m committed to paying it forward to make a difference in someone else’s life.

I first met the MIA team when I was in upper sixth at Saint Paul's College Nkwen. I was sincerely overwhelmed with joy and much inspiration from their demeanor, the way they spoke, and the encouragement they gave us to put our best efforts into all our academic endeavors. It was a truly transformative encounter as it made me prepare and work very hard for the GCE. When I was done with the GCE, I couldn't wait for a few days to start attending the MIA preparatory program. The program was completely fascinating; the MIA team literally reconstructed and transformed my persona as a student. Throughout the 10 weeks of the program, I learned from the personal experiences of the teachers, gained insights, and received constructive feedback from them, which I badly needed to prepare my mindset psychologically for the entrance exam. The MIA teachers gave me a sound and perfect understanding of the concepts that were essential for me to master, concepts that I never grasped in high school and thought were impossible for me to understand. The great minds I encountered in MIA have truly made me a better student and prepared me for the field of medicine. Today, I am studying medical laboratory sciences in the Faculty of Health Sciences, a reality I honestly think I couldn't have achieved without MIA.

Unlike other students who had most of their plans for the “After A Levels” figured out, I didn’t. I’ve always had a passion for the medical field, and I honestly thought I would just leave high school, go to some medical school, pay fees, and start studying medicine. I had no sense of orientation or pathway to pursue my dream. It was when I learned about the MIA Prepas and followed a friend to the preparatory program that I gained real clarity and guidance on exactly what is expected of me to one day be in a medical school in Cameroon. While at MIA, I fell in love not only with my tutors but also with the way they conducted things. They were very organized and ensured we received the best they had to offer. I could name the various tutors who helped me at every step and ensured I didn’t fall behind, but the list would be inexhaustible. Their efforts didn’t fail as I was among the selected 80 out of approximately 1,500 students who wrote the Medical Exam into the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Buea. If I were to advise anyone planning to write an entrance exam, MIA is the ideal place to nurture your dreams. With the right amount of hard work, you too can make it into your dream school.
